I can't get past configuring gtk-1.2.7 install. I've installed
glib-1.2.7 (over and over), but gtk keeps saying it can't run the test
program:
checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.7... ./configure: /usr/local/bin:
permission denied
./configure: /usr/local/bin: permission denied
./configure: /usr/local/bin: permission denied
./configure: /usr/local/bin: permission denied
./configure: /usr/local/bin: permission denied
no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log
for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB was incorrectly
installed
*** or that you have moved GLIB since it was installed. In the latter
case, you
*** may want to edit the glib-config script: /usr/local/bin
configure: error:
I'm running as root, and have edited the glib-config script to point to
all kinds of places, including /usr/local/include (where glib.h
resides). I've moved config.cache and confdefs.h to .hidden. . .
I'm all out of ideas.
