[gtk-list] Problem in using a hscrollbar with a text widget.

Dear Sir,
        I tried to use a horizontal scrollbar with the Gtkadjustment  that
of a text widget.But the hscrollbar does not work.What can do i do?
        Kindly reply as i need it in an application that I am developing.
