I think you're going to need to draw it to a fixed container as a parent to 
your controls. Put a "shadow" image slightly offset from a container for 
your controls that would be set at position 0, 0. does that make sense? I'm 
assuming you have your window content inside of a Gtk container widget.

have set Window.Decorated to false, so there is no border, no title bar and
