In order to meet a requirement for inclusion into the official GNOME bindings release, we have decided to split the current gtk-sharp source distribution into two packages. Starting with the next stable release, we will be releasing the glib-sharp, pango-sharp, atk-sharp, gdk-sharp, gtk-sharp, glade-sharp, and gtk-dotnet assembly source in the gtk-sharp package. The remaining parts of the stack will move to a new package, gnome-sharp.
I want to stress that at the assembly level, nothing is changing. We will still be maintaining runtime and source compatibility. The only difference will be how we are distributing the sources. In anticipation of this change, I have branched the 2.4/2.6/2.8 release lines to a new branch: svn+ssh://mono-cvs.ximian.com/source/branches/gtk-sharp-2-468-branch I have begun the split in the trunk branch. The trunk branch is currently broken, but I hope to have it building again by the end of the day. I will post an update when trunk is safe to try again. For those who are interested in trying the bleeding edge, I hope to have gtk-sharp-2.9.0 and gnome-sharp-2.15.0 releases out early next week, or over the weekend. Thanks for your patience during this transition. -- Mike Kestner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> SUSE® Linux Enterprise 10 Your Linux is ready www.novell.com/linux _______________________________________________ Gtk-sharp-list maillist - [email protected] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/gtk-sharp-list
