Hi Gilles, Well the documentation (monodoc) states that it is available only on GTK# 2.4 and up, so you need to reference the gtk-sharp-2.0 package.
mcs ... -pkg:gtk-sharp-2.0 ... Hope it helps, PS. to the list: We should document somewhere what package should be referenced for a given set of API versions, as it really isn't easy for newcomers, to find the historical reasons for the current 2 packages for GTK#, and where the (moving) version borders are.
