It is quite similar in GTK. It is enough to implement DeleteEvent
handler so that it assigns "true" to RetVal property of
DeleteEventArgs parameter:

a.RetVal = true;

where "a" is  DeleteEventArgs. This assignment prevents the default
event hadler to be called.
