I use Cairo.
It isn't amazingly fast on my crappy intel video card which tells me it
probably isn't using hardware acceleration for me but it does the job.
It is also quite easy with it to use multiple threads to perform the
rendering.
I believe there are tutorials out there on GTK# + Cairo so it shouldn't be
too hard to get started either.
