Far be it from to say how you guys should run your project, but if you do get the chance I'd suggest that a clean bug tracker would be a very good thing both for developers and users. Perhaps it might even encourage new contributors if bugs are suitably triaged to show where would be a worthwhile / straightforward place to start... Of course I appreciate that you're all volunteers with, no doubt, limited time - and thanks for all the good work.
