*** gtkmm 2.90: gtkmm 2.90 wraps GTK+ 2.90. It is the gtkmm-3.0 ABI and installs in parallel with the gtkmm-2.4 ABI, of which gtkmm 2.20 is currently the latest stable version. This allows application developers to start using it when they choose to, without being forced, and without breaking existing installed applications.
gtkmm-3.0 will be mostly API-compatible with gtkmm-2.4, though some small changes will be needed in application source code. The decision to do this ABI-break was not ours. We are forced to do it by GTK+'s decision to do a ABI-breaking GTK+ 3.0. However, we will take the opportunity to fix some small issues. Note that there are also gtkmm 2.21 (to become 2.22) version, which have small API additions. gtkmm stays in-sync with GTK+ by following the official GNOME release schedule: http://www.gnome.org/start/unstable/ Bindings for the rest of the GNOME Platform are also available, and are also API-stable. http://www.gtkmm.org *** Changes 2.90.3.1: Build: * Split atkmm off into a separate tarball, like pangomm. This allows gtkmm-2.4 and gtkmm-3.0 to use the same atkmm ABI. (Daniel Elstner) * Build against gtk+ from git master too. (Chris Kühl) Gtk: * StatusBar: Added remove_all() * TextView: Added get_hadjustment(), get_vadjustment(), im_context_filter_keypress(), and reset_im_context().
