I used a modified version of the ToolPalette example from the website.
I removed the two comboboxes from top, the canvas on the right and the
scrolledwindow.
Also I didn't use the HBox and only have the window and one VBox and the setup
I mentioned on my post
Unfortunately I cannot share the source file because my home computer seems to
go to a better life yesterday. Once I repair it or when I can access the HD
I'll send the sample file.
But I can tell you that when you set the packing to SHRINK it only considers
the height of the ToolItemGroup button, so when there is only one
ToolItemGroup, it is impossible to see the expanded content.

Could you please create a simple-as-possible test case for this? It's
possible that there is a problem with GtkToolPalette's size request
code.
