This probably sounds stupid but I have msysgit installed on a separate
machine. My main development machine has TortoiseSVN but, when I
initially installed MsysGit on the same machine, all hell broke out.!
So I had to install Git on a different machine with common access to the
same network drive.
So with that in mind, I just took a look at the MsysGit machine and
you're right.! 'rm' / cp' / 'cmp' etc are all present on it. So if I
just switch my gtkmm development to that machine, hopefully this will
"just work". Many thanks.
