I have no personal experience trying this but have a friend who is reasonably
happy behind a fairing with a plug-in-the-ear type earphone/mic. I attempted
this once and was not happy.
Both J&R and Autocomm make connections, although they work with a limited
number of phones. Autocomm is small and effective, installs easily in almost
any helmet. J&R is bulky and I would not do to my helmet what they require.
But if this is important to you, consider buying a helmet from them with the
system pre-installed.
