I've been using the EBC's for about 4 years now. I bought them back when
they were significantly cheaper than the OEMs. The stopping power may be
down a bit from the OEMs, because I believe the Yamaha's are sintered while
the EBCs are not. This also means that the EBCs might be cause less wear on
the rotors. Don't get me wrong, the EBCs still provide MONDO braking.

Subject: Front brake pad wear

Hey guys,
What kind of mileage have you been getting out of your front brake pads?
I bought my current GTS about 2 1/2 years ago (a 93) with about 6000
miles on it. Now it has 36,000 miles and looking at the wear indicators
on the front brak, I see there is still plenty of room between them and
the rotors.

Also, have any of you replaced your pads with the EBC pads? A local
dealer looked pads up for me and EBC has a non-sintered kevlar set for
the GTS.
Has anyone used these or am I better off ordering the real thing from
Yamaha. There is not a big difference in price since Yamaha cut the
brake pad, air filter and various other GTS parts prices by 50%.

Thanks for all the upcoming input :) At least we can get off the helmet
topic :)

Hugh
