My personal 2 wheel ear bleeding system consists of a CD player
with anti-skip but the most important part is the headphone
amplifier.
I use the Headbanger available here -->
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/hardware/hphoneamp.html
Or if you want to build it yourself, the schematic and parts list is
here -->http://www.minidisc.org/headbanger.html
After using all types of crappy "ear bud" headphones and testing
out the different commercially available helmet mount speakers (all
crap, all returned) what I did was dissect a pair of good quality
headphones with relatively small speakers. (The OEM Sony that
comes with the Discman is a good candidate). Now I have 2 slim
foam covered speakers that I slip between my ears and the helmet
liner AFTER the helmet is on my head.
With the Headbanger amp, I can blissfully make my ears ring to
the strains of Iron Maiden at speeds approaching 80MPH.
At these speeds, wind noise (using the sport windshield) does
interfere a bit. :)
