The job of replacing these bearings is not incredibly difficult. However, be
sure you have found the true source of undampened swing arm movement. I have
heard of more cases on the GTS of the swing arm pivot having side to side
movement which manifests itself as undampened swing arm movement. It is not
unheard of to have looseness in the pivot mechanisms bearings, but on the GTS
the swing arm pivot has been higher probability in the past.
I personally prefer pressing the bearings in and out. Beating on bearings
just rubs me the wrong way. If you have a choice, and dont have access to a
press, maybe you can take the removed pieces to your local shop and let them
press the bearings in and out. It is much easier to keep them straight and
avoid scraping material off the linkage pieces from forcing a cocked bearing.
