Oh, some yahoo decided to open his door at the precise moment I was passing
him... deflected off the door into a car in the next lane, then did the
horizontal thang.... Was a great opportunity to finally replace the muffler
w/ an unsightly dent from when someone decided to knock it over while it was
parked some time before... Unfortunately it also afforded me the
opportunity to replace every other piece of plastic save the left rear
piece... Had to get a new Givi windshield through a friend in Switzerland
even....

The most recent incident had to do w/ something big, metallic, and sharp I
managed to run over two weeks ago in the carpool lane on the I-10 in heavy
traffic... rode for about a mile before realizing the rear tire was torn
open, and then found the fender shattered as well.

I suppose it's not too bad, though... that's an average of 87,000 miles per
fender... and at 174 grand my original clutch is just starting to slip...

Oh, and if anyone needs to replace their rear swingarm assembly - plan on at
least a four-month backorder - I'd swear everything for that bike is put on
a slow boat from Japan headed westbound......

Hey, you asked.....
