Interesting; as it turns out, I don't need to do one. I had asked if anyone had pulled their motor in anticipation of doing some engine work; luckily, it was my f*ing drive chain. :) Yeah, I feel bright today. Anyway, I am about to turn over the odometer, and I have gotten by completely without engine work, which is fantastic. I think I pulled the motor on my KZ400 about 25 times, without exaggeration. In fact, I'm probably underestimating. Can't imagine someone wanting to "beef up" this chassis. What you will be doing is "beefing down" the chassis if anything, to make it lighter. I read a series of articles on a GTS race bike they had in Europe. The number one difficulty in getting it down to race weight was the front wheel, which will be near impossible to find a replacement for, and is damn heavy. Regardless, the bike handled really well. The only other issue was that in real hard racing, the guy touched down the swingarm once. Whoops- that hurt. We'll be waiting to hear with baited breath more about your motor rebuild, and most likely because of the imfamous oil consumption problem. No one has figured it out (that I know of).
