Here in the Great White North (aka Canada), I sometimes do take the GTS to
the slopes for some late season riding - as in snowboarding. No "ski rack"
required. I either sit on the board (across my seat) or strap it to my
back. No poles to complicate the issue (poles are only for when skiers
make mistakes) and the boot bag neatly attaches to the pillion via a bungee
net.
Regarding riding gear, I leave my Fieldsheer jacket at home and ride to the
hill in one of several (ski or snowboard) riding suits, depending on the
weather and temperature.
As for those (mildly) disparingly remarks on the part of the skiers on the
list, you really should try snowboarding. It is the biggest rush I have
experienced since amateur motorcycle roadracing. Put another way, the
difference between skiing and snowboarding is roughly akin to driving a
four-wheeler and piloting two. Yes, I still ski and snowboard (since I am
a qualified instructor in both disciplines) but I tend to spend the
majority of my personal time riding a carving board - when I cannot ride my
GTS, of course!
