My key has been this way for years! Maybe 5 years ago I put some graphite
lubricant inside the lock mechanism and it seemed to get better. Just like
Pete, I now have to apply gentle upward pressure and the key turns very
nicely. Works every time and has never gotten any worse.

Had the same problem not long after I had bought my GTS and thought the
Switch was on the way out.

At first I jiggled it but then I found that if I applied a slight pressure
towards the left or outside edge of the switch as I turned the key, it
worked
OK every time.

That was some 8000 + miles ago and I'm still on the original switch.
