I think you may find that if you ride old 50 from Delta through central
Nevada, that it won't be so bad. That is the way I would do it, rather
than trailering. I have done the trip many times. It's still plenty
desolate, but the desolation and little towns have their own charm. I
would never consider doing it on I-80, booooring, (on a bike, that is).
Highway 101 will be a delight, I have done the coast highway, at
different times, from LA to past Seattle. I have good friends in
Humboldt County, but be careful about wandering around on the dirt
roads, you can get yourself shot that way.

The strongest possible recommendation for Sam Wo at the corner of Grant
and Washington. Authentic, cheap as hell, but you won't have Crazy
Eddie around to insult you, so a bit of the luster is gone. That is
where I learned to use chopsticks, because Crazy Eddie wouldn't give me
a fork. Eddie wasn't much for roundeyes. I have eaten at The
Potsticker, it has its charms....

Ah, San Francisco, my favorite town in the world. I will be going out
in July to visit friends myself, but will be flying.
