That sounds fun, but the Alps are a lot closer for Nick, and even better riding!
As far as shipping bikes from the US over there...it's easy, and the break-even
cost between shipping (from a major East Coast airport--Newark, JFK, Dulles,
etc.) vrs. renting a decent bike in Europe is about 3 weeks.
