Screw the bimmer...get a Busa
I just got a new bike and didn't even consider getting rid of my GTS.
Although I must say, this 2001 Hayabusa makes for one hell of a
sport tourer. I've already added Helis a taller windsheild and various
other minor goodies..the new Beetle Bags from Corbin should
round this baby out perfectly.
Riding the GTS after getting off the Busa is very disappointing
however. The damn Suzuki is absolutely incredible in terms of
acceleration and handling. The one striking difference was in the
braking....compared to the GTS, the Busa's brakes suck. This was
fixed with the addition of PFM calipers and Brembo rotors. Still not
up to GTS standards but much much better than stock.
When the factory warranty on my GTS runs out in May 02 (entered
service in May 97...Original warranty till May 99...Extended 3 year
warranty thereafter), I'm going to investigate shoving a Hayabusa
engine in her. They seem to show up on Ebay from time to time
and I'm sure as time goes on (and more Busas are stolen) the
supply of parts on Ebay will increase :)
