Hi Peter ,
This is the same problem exactly , as i had when i went to France earlier
this year , ran into a heavy storm and the bike started to misfire on No4
cylinder .
It got so bad i didn't have power to over take on the motorway , had to stop
just past the storm and let the heat from the engine dry the ignition out .
The cause i my case was the plug cap , water had managed to run down past
the seal at the top and the heat from the engine must have turned it to
steam , which
got past the bottom seal and shorted the plug out .
If you look inside the bottom seal on the plug cap of the failing cylinder
it may look black / burnt , i scraped the black / burnt stuff away and put
some silicon sealant around the inside edge .
I also put some around the top seal , but not to much , so
i could still get the plug cap off when i needed to do a plug change in the
future .
