I�ve owned 2 shat driven bikes 1 kawasaki 550 LTD 1Kawasaki GTR 1000 (Concours) Both great bikes, the LTD was not very powerfull, The Concours (�89) was better 110 hp I liked the shafts very much since I was not too well on maintenance until I got the GTS. I found it sort of cool feeling the rear lifting when blasting away on the concours. Maintnance was great I never experiences many problems with the shaft. The only thing was that the rubber blocks in the rear wheel get hard aster a few years and need replacement. Not much work to do yourself. Other than that I like the shafties. In Holland many people think that the GTS would have sold a lot better had it had a shaft drive.
