Ah, the joys of buying motorcycles. One of my regular riding buddies just
bought an almost-new Suzuki RF900R, last year produced, sold new by Suzuki
to the first owner as a long-leftover new bike, and sold to my friend as
one with 700 original miles on it. Sounds like too good a deal to pass
by.
Bike was on eBay, and Dave had to pay off the lien, held by GE Capital who
does the Suzuki corporate financing. Has original bill of sale from first
owner, sold as new. By legit (?) dealer in Missouri.
He got the title from the GE/Suzuki folks, went to title it this morning.
The state of New Mexico denied the title, as........the bike was
originally sold in Ontario Canada, where it had been stolen before it was
sold to the previous owner as a zero-mile-on-the-clock brand-new warranted
bike financed through Suzuki corporate.
The status of the bike is uncertain.........
The status of Dave's CASH for the transaction is uncertain.......
Yow.
