Soooo many questions Ken...
The shop manual really says to replace them; maybe
because they start to pass moisture into the system
(which IS sensitive to gunk); not many bikes have an
ABS system this good/sensitive; I have not heard of
any refusals to replace the HU due to lack of line
replacement per manual; nor have I heard of actual
brake line FAILURES--just HU's ceasing to function;
and finally, we HAVE an ex(cellent)-Yamaha Tech person
on THIS list!!!
