Hello, fellow GTS-Owners list members and motorcycle enthusiasts. Please
forgive me for subscribing to this list under somewhat auspicious
circumstances. You see, I don't own a GTS......YET. I am in the process of
searching for a clean, well cared-for model. I live near Baton Rouge, LA.
and have located a red(that's the fast model,right?)'93 bike at a nearby
dealer. The GTS has 19,000 miles, is completely stock, and quite clean. The
asking price is $5995.00, but, without any accessories, this seems a little
high. I have found a few bikes in CA, MN, and Canada at some attractive
prices, but when I factor in today's air travel, fuel costs, etc., the
local GTS may not be a bad buy. The GTS-1000 owners list seemed like the
best place to find info/experiences related to these great looking
machines.Anyway, I'm glad to have found this list and look forward to being
a "Legal" GTS owner soon. My previous bikes include Honda CB550, 900
Custom, V65 Sabre, numerous motocross/dual purpose bikes, and two '98
Harleys( Softail Custom, Electraglide Std.). As the years passed, I thought
that I would try to discover the Harley mystique. Never understanding,
fully, the animosity that most HD riders have towards riders of other
makes, I was equally surprised at the divisions within the Harley circle.
Iron Head vs Evo, Big vs Sportster, Old school vs Yuppie. I guess it's
really a people problem right? Sorry to have rambled on, so. Reading some
of the postings on the list have just increased my eagerness to
purchase "the one that got away"(the used V65 Sabre won out). Kelvin May
