No need to use the shims with the EBC pads. The shims are there
to eliminate squeal with the OEM pads. Brake squeal is simply a
resonating of the brake pads at a specific frequency and certain
types of pads (sintered mostly) require them. If the pads you buy
do not come with shims, its best not to re-use old shims from a
different pad.
