One note on the SS brake line thread.
When we went up to Goldendale (where were the rest of you?) I compared notes with
Roger, who had the Speigler lines thru Ralph Weiss (I have the Goodrich lines thru
John Stamnas). The difference in number of lines from the two sources is this:
- the Goodridge/Stamnas kit replaces all the rubber lines exactly. The GTS circuit
consists of some hard/ steel tubing (connected with flare fittings) in addition to
the rubber lines.
According to Roger, Speiglers' kit replaces the whole circuit with SS lines, so you
don't have as many connections. We traded bikes during the ride and couldn't tell
any difference. So half dozen vs. the other.
I also can't really feel a difference from the rubber lines, although it is a a
recommended maintenance item to replace the rubber lines. Maybe not every 2-3 years
as was discussed, but certainly due now being our bikes are going on 8 years old.
