Was at my dealer at lunch today. He said the Yamaha reps were there just a
week ago. He specifically asked about the FJR and was told point blank to
just forget about the FJR for the USA. This confirms what I was basically
told by the Yamaha rep at the Honda Hoot. While I don't know what I would do
if the FJR did come to the USA (face it the GTS is still hard to beat), I
would like to see it and other bikes make it to our shores that don't make
it now. There will be a new R1 or R1 replacement this fall.

Subject: Yamaha FJR1300 Coming?
I know the general manager of a large Yamaha/other bike dealer here in the
DC area, so I queried him. Here's his response:
"I hadn't heard that Yamaha was going to import the FJR1300, but it looked
like it may do well when I saw it in Munich last fall. I don't think I'll
take any deposits until I have firm orders from Yamaha."
