Having ridden the bike for the last couple of days, I have a few more
impressions.
1. It still needs 6th gear. I may try some sprocket changes.
2. It is much easier to get on the center stand than the FJ.
3. There is no place to put the tail bag so I'm going to use two different
tankbags. One is quite large and will contain the Autocomm communications I
use to converse with my SO when she rides, (which is almost always) the rain
gear, tools, misc stuff, and the smaller I will use when I ride by myself. The
large one sits up pretty high but I can still see all the gauges and it's not
in the way at all. This is the one I will use for the longer trips cause it
will hold so much.
4. The key is a real problem. Sometimes it just doesn't want to work and it's
frustrating to sit there trying to get the bike started. It happened to me
several times today, once in front of Cole Harley Davidson no less, and it as
embarrassing. I imagine they thought I had stolen it and was having trouble
getting the "home made key" to work.
5. The bike is so smooth. That is really impressive. Unless the bump in the
road is very large, then you don't even feel it.
6. Since the seat to bars is a longer reach, I do get a little more weight on
my wrists than the FJ. I have the "Gen-Mar" risers on it and it did sit me
more upright. Don't think it's going to be a problem but I did notice it.
7. Wind buffeting is quite a lot. I have three windshields so I will give each
a try to see which I like better.
More later.
