I finally got my ABS HU replaced this past Saturday. There was no cost as
(finally) promised by Yamaha. As soon as I got the bike back, I took off
the seat, shorted the ABS plug, and cycled the HU - it worked at both ends.
I the tried the rear on the street and then mustered up the courage to try
the front. Both ends worked, but I was a little surprised at the little bit
of abruptness on sticky pavement. How many times per second is it supposed
to cycle? I've been in cars where it was really abrupt (GMC Astro van) and
in cars where it was smooth (first generation Nissan Altima, which cycles
15 times/sec).
