Well the trip thru the Northwest is done. It was
awesome. Left Gig Harbor Washington on Thursday after
work. Had to travel I5 south, freeways sure do
suck. Hooked up with my brother, on his ST1100 out of
Salem Oregon south of Olympia. We rode East to Yakima
and then south to Bend Oregon. We took the Century
drive up into the Cascades and into Crater Lake. Road
were freshly resurfaced and very fast. Dropped down
into Ashland to meet up with our other brother coming
up from LA on his wing. Then it was off to the Oregon
Caves and onto the coast. 101 north was beautiful, the
weather was sunny and warm. Followed 101 up to
Tillamook to the Air Museum. We decided we had had
enough fog and wind and headed inland. Up the Columbia
gorge, and into the Cascades for some fun roads. We
continued north into Leavenworth( nice German
town)(great beer and food), then we turned West to the
Olympic mountians. Up into Victoria and the island.
Then it was over to Canada mainland. Took 1 out of
Vancouver over to Harrison Hot springs for a night
in a real bed. The GTS enjoyed having all that camping
gear off. Now it was time to think about heading home.
We headed south for the wing brother wouldnt have as
far to ride. Thru John Day fossil beds and Burns
Oregon. He headed south on 395 and ST brother and I
headed West. Into Salem and then back up I5 to Gig
Harbor. That was 18 days and only 3500 miles. The
wives thought it was a "kinder/gentler" bike trip this
year.

Next year it is off to Colorado. That one should be
back up into the 6K miles again.

The GTS ran great and passed cars with ease. She loved
the 80-90 mph range and didnt hesitate in the 100-110
range. Some of those back road on the Cascades of
Oregon demand 100mph.
