Ah.....man...does anyone have a cigarette? (if i still smoked...)

AHHHHH....whoooooo.....ahhhhh......wow. You were great. THANKS.

So I woke up, at 6:30 in the morning....to pick up the bike at 11:00am.
Just enough time to swallow down about 10 cups of coffee and get
myself cranked up for the day. At 8:30, I asked my wife...(or told her)
that we needed to call Matt and pick the bike up early...as I was
bouncing around the house...skitter scatter...she finally said ok...after
the longest drive known to man....Golden to Littleton...we arrived.
We were greeted with smiles and a friendly handshake and there she
was....gleeming in the morning light. Red, Sleek, Sexy. As I was
writing the check and signing the bill of sale...Matt (seller) said....
"oh man....i need to fire her up one last time..." which in a way broke
my heart. After she was purring...he told me that last night his wife
said..."matt, maybe we should reconsider this..." I guess they had
been on the bike only a couple of times before..and now she wanted
to go for a ride late at night. So they fired it up and went out for one last
dance together....All I kept thinking was "thank god I put money down
to hold this bike...TOO LATE! Sorry..."...We shook hands one last time
and I told him if he gets a bike and wants to take a tour...call me up
and well go for a ride.

I pulled out of the driveway...checkbook bleeding on fire from that quick
and deep cut...we drove across denver and took it to "Discount
Motorcycle Tire in Wheatridge"(great prices everyone in denver
metro)...I knew that there was a nail in the back tire, so I had to get that
fixed before anything else. Seeing that the OE tires were still on it...it
was in dire need of attention. I soon found out that the front tire is
nearly impossible to find anywhere...only Michelin and Metzler make
that specific size....so I went with a Z3 Metzler tire in the back...and the
Z1 Metzler is on order and should come in on tuesday or wednesday
of next week....good enough...LETS RIDE....

By this time my wife had picked out the wine color HJC flipup chin bar
helmet ....great steal again at $195. And we decided to meet for lunch.
After lunch I HAD to break in the backtire...the first couple of gearshifts
found a "squeaking-bark" off the new tire in the back. I decided to head
up to Evergreen to see my old house up in soda creek....It was a little
journey back to memory lane....this bike was one dream come
true...the other dream I have is to buy the house i use to live
in...wonderful mountain house.....anyway....i still played it easy on the
curves do to the still New Slick rubber...but on the straits I hit the
century mark numerous times on I-70.....never really even tried to go
fast...that bike...just sang along....asking for more. Many times I
creeped past 90, not paying attention....just passing and coasting,
pop...coast...pop...coast...95,damn......break....that is how the whole
day went... I put on 65 miles to the new tire, its starting to really hold
now on quick acceleration.

Came home, let her cool off, attached the luggage racks...trimmed the
racks with REFLECTO tape...wonderful stuff....I considered creating a
lightning bolt on the back with the tape...but maybe Ill see If i can buy
one....Gently handwashed her...and scrubbed out the old bugs
embedded inside the luggage trim.....toothbrush scrubbed out the old
wax buildup between the panels, detailed her out. Then waxed her up
with McGuires Gold topcoat Clear Wax.....wow....shiny. After all that
love and care it was time for some more riding.

I went down to apple jack and bought a six pack of New Belgium 2
cherry ale, and a six pack of Sam Adams Cherry Wheat for the wife.
Loaded both six packs into one luggage rack...my my...they are roomy.
And decided to take the slow way home.....down the road, turn onto I-
70 W...and hit the Hwy58 E. exit.....(everyone in denver....the start of
HWY 58 is 2miles of strait, uncrowded road.......luckly I was in the front
of the traffic pack.....with nothing infront of me....I ducked down and
made the 1.5 mile stretch to my house in about 30 sec.....i hit 110mph,
before i had to slow for my exit. Pulled in....set her on center and
kissed her goodnight....now im having a beer....relaxing and enjoying
without regret my purchase......

OH man, that felt good...im going to have to go back for more.
