>
> In December, 2001, Microsoft will cease to provide support for MS DOS,
> Windows 3.xx, and Windows NT 3.5x; and support will become limited for
> Win95, Win95 OSR1 and Win95 OSR2.
> Seven months from then, in June 2002, Microsoft will cease to provide full
> support for Win98, Win98SE, and WinNT4.x.

The government totally caved in on the antitrust settlement. The
general consensus in the software community is that after Sept. 11 the
government is more interested in spyware than in antitrust. We believe
that the deal the feds cut was that MS would be allowed to skate as long
as the feds were allowed to spy all they want. Windows XP is full of
back doors and reporting functions. They want us moved to their spyware
systems as soon as possible to please the feds. Welcome to the brave
new world.
