There's a brand of grip warmers that install under the grip, but still
outside the bar. They're call Kimpex, and they're originally made for
snowmobilers. I have these on my GTS and have used them on several other
bikes. They work great, AND they're under $30 for the set (and BMW charges
$300 for their grip warmers?!). The Kimpex warmers also feature a HI/LO
switch, but I went to a marine supply store and bought a switch that lights
up, just 'cause it's cool. They do not include an in-line fuse however, so
you should get your own at an auto parts store. I believe these grip warmers
are now available from Riderwearhouse, as well as other sources.
