Rob --
I recall long distance GTS rider Dave Biasotti telling me a few months back
that his fuel gauge was acting up on him. I spoke to him later and he said that an
electrical wire was the culprit. So, given the commonality in our bikes, I'd keep my
eyes peeled for a bad wire (on the right side of the tank, as you sit on the bike).
You may want to contact Dave directly for more info. Buena suerte bro,

Subject: Gas gauge?
My gauge is fluctuating a lot, showing empty, full and somewhere in between
randomly...
Bad float? Seems pretty simple to replace it though, is this a common
problem or something that is rare but happens?
Easy fixes?
I'm thinking a leaky float...
