I'd like nothing more than to go riding (especially with the near 70 degree
weather we're having in NYC), but my bike is still wadded from the little
wreckie-poo I had last month. Latest word is that the GTS is not totalled,
but damages are in the $4000 range. It requires new front and side
bodywork, a new muffler (a lovely titanium Renegade is in the works), a new
front swingarm, mirror, and front wheel straightening. Ouch--but this is
why I buy full coverage insurance (love that uninsured motorist coverage
too). The big hitch is that the parts are not available stateside, and so
they're being sent from Japan, and this will take FIVE WEEKS. I guess the
guilty party will be paying me for some substantial loss of use, too! Oh
well, at least I don't have to try and shop for a replacement, the GTS would
be hard to beat.
