Here's the mail I got from Mike. If he's not a list member, his reply probably won't be posted (at least I haven't seen it yet).

Date: Sat, 29 Dec 2001 09:23:33 -0800 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I am not sure if this will get to the list. I am back living in America for a while and have a t-1 line, so I am back on the list, I think. we offer a very discounted price for lists. we have done it for the BMW group and I can post the prices as soon as I find where on the new computer it is. I have to say that we just re-designed the heat-troller. there was a lingering problem that if just the right set of events happened it could fail. we found it for some reason in the new design and it is fixed. we also have going to a better potting that does seem to make it fully waterproof. although I still don't recommend people power washing it. I'd very, very strongly recommend that you take a look at the Gerbing heated jackets instead. IMHO, the heating, construction, and fit are better. I've got two of the un-insulated jacket liners (one is for my wife). I sent Gerbing some aluminized mylar "space blanket" material (available as an emergency blanket at any camping store), and they put it into the jacket between the outer nylon and the heating elements. This makes the jacket wind-proof and reflects the heat, without adding substantial bulk. The jacket takes up about the same packed room as an Eclipse vest, and feels less bulky while riding. If you do get a heated jacket, you'll never use a vest again. In fact, the jackets can be too warm. The Gerbings don't have "hot spots" like a product that uses heating elements in series (the Eclipse vest, for example). Overall, they are so warm that Mike's HeatTroller really is a worthwhile addition. => => => Mike you out there? Can you make any arrangements for a group => purchase...say 25 units?
