I said it was more expensive - try $133 for the two story wings and $154
(for 2002) for the Parkside rooms (fronting the lawn and pool area),
which are the ones I try to get. But I also love the golf course there
(I rent clubs). They keep going up every year, I remember many, many
years ago when it was under $50/night. But I have a lot of nostalgia
from going there for past 30 years. Jees, I'm getting old!
The weather is always unpredictable in the spring - remember being at
Scotty's Castle once in early April (many yrs ago), 1 pm bright
sunshine, not a cloud in the sky and it was a balmy 32 degrees! It is
also pretty treacherous getting over Lake Isabella / Walker pass
depending on how long winter has decided to hang around. Why I usually
go in the fall, no late snow showers or snow melt to obstruct the way.
But I am game and will try to make it.

I don't do casinos much either, and I do enjoy staying at the Ranch.
But it's about $100 a night, and there's one bar and not much else open
at night.

That's not entirely accurate- It may be an average. I've been there in

early April when it never got COOLER than 98 degrees, and that was at
night!

We're set for the first weekend in April. Call the Stagecoach Inn and
Casino
at 1-800-4-BIG-WIN and say you're part of Kelly Cash's GTS group. I
have a
block of 5 non-smoking rooms in the new wing set aside. You'll need to
make
your reservaions yourselves- While I'm holding the rooms, I ain't
paying
for them! We're set to check-in on Friday, April 5th. I have us
checking
out on Monday the 8th, although I expect many will bail on Sunday.

I believe many of the rooms have two full-size beds. I will share mine
with someone who doesn't snore! ;-) (but I won't be heartbroken if I
stay in one by myself) We can probably get more rooms if needed.
I'd recommend anyone who wants to come (and Phil, I'm esxpecting you to
make good on your comment about showing up!) get a room booked ASAP so
we have time to get more if we need. (and I hope we do!)

The last time I checked (a couple of years ago) it was $100 a night.
Not an unreasonable price, considering. But ever since I showed up
there and
there was "no room left in the inn" (I hate it when that happens) I've
stayed in Beatty.
