I've been following the threads about the HID bulbs and as much as I would like to switch, I can't afford it right now. (Getting ready to hike some more of the AT and a motorcycle trip to Alaska this summer) That being said, there is a very inexpensive alternative that will probably suffice until finances are better. On my home page, there is a store that has the following for sale: Krypton Extreme White Head Lamp Bulbs 4300k 30% Krypton gas charged that produce brightness and intensity closest to HID. $24.95
When I purchased my bike there was a very bright bulb in it so I haven't felt a need to replace yet it but going to Alaska and driving at night some of the way will warrant the change.
