Thor. I have pics I can send you of two PIAA 1100X's mounted on my GTS. They are 55w and can be switched on independently of the main light. I am also running a PIAA 55/60w H4 bulb in the main unit which seems to give off about the same light as last years bulb (90/130w). I am happy with both. The 1100's cost me $308 CDN and the H4 was $50. I rode through the mountains once last year at night and they were a HUGE improvement.
I'm sure this is going to cause another string about "to always leave high beams on or not" but there's no way I'd get away with leaving these puppies on when there's oncoming traffic. I'd blind someone and they'd run into me. I believe that there's a valid point to what guys say about being seen, however there has to be some common sense used also. It's easy to leave the high beams on all the time, but I think it gets very annoying to some drivers - some may even react aggressively (I've driven in NY) ;-) while others may get blinded. What I do is turn on the PIAA's (daytime) when I see a vehicle approaching my path from a side road so that they see me, but I never ride into oncoming traffic with them on. Regards GWN Daren
