Hi all-
Just changed the chain and sprockets on the GTS. (got
20,000 miles out of them, barely- The "hardened" rear
sprocket was trashed so badly that the chain would jump a
tooth under medium to heavy acceleration. egad. you'll love
the photograph comparing new and old sprockets)
So anyway, I have a DID X-Ring chain, and now they only
ship rivet-type links instead of clip-on. I bit the
bullet and spent the $65 for a rivet tool, and put it all
together.
The master link has a dimple or hole in each of the two
posts. I used the "flare" tool on the rivet press to expand
the two post ends. The question I have is, Am I done? Or
am I expected to use the other press tool to flatten the
cones down?
Thanks,
-K
