Gentlemen, I tried flushing my brakes yesterday by using the wire crossover in the ABS plug under the seat method. This was the first time I've tried this method, typically I just do it manually, but I remember reading that doing it this way may not move the fluid through the HU pump. I regularly lock my brakes on gravel during the summer to make sure the ABS system gets a little bit of a workout and it seems to work fine, but I wanted to try this method also.
When I ran the test I had my lovely assistant apply both brakes before turning the key on. I then heard and she felt the ABS pulse the front brake then the back brake for about 2 seconds each. I tried to open the bleed valves on the calipers at the same time as this pulsing, but noticed that the fluid did not flow out any differently than when I did it manually. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks GWN Daren
