I took all your advice and took the from caliper off my bike a few weeks ago. Found the pistons to be tilted on two of the chambers. a few pits as well...like rock hits to the piston as you drove. some very minor scuffing...two pits caused by these rocks I'm guessing. At 26K it's time for a major brake overhaul I guess....at least by hand verses at the shop. Not hard to do...just takes time. I'm searching for dimensions of the o-ring seals (admittedly haven't pulled out the manual yet) and will go to a local industrial supplier for replacements...should be 2-3$ each I'm told by my Ducati friends....some special material (starts with a "B"...but I'm brain dead this morning!)
I agree with Peter's assessment. ABS was probably great...the caliper probably got stuck from what I have now seen on my own bike. Rest (a lot) do not over stress the knee...they can come back if you do not over extend yourself....this is one of those things where you either do what the doctor says...or you live on ibuprofen the next few decades....follow the doctors orders! Get well Shawn P
