The pithy ruminations from Peter Maggiacomo on
<Relentless GTS Bashing from T.W.O.> were:
=> I hope I'm not repeating another lister, but I just
=> read relentless GTS bashing in T.W.O. motorcycle
=> magazine. [Feb.Issue] It was so harsh, it was funny.
=> The headline read "To The Crusher!" They proceeded
=> to trash the GTS for being an overpriced, overweight,

It was overpriced. (Why do you think they sold so badly?)

It is overweight. (I wish mine was 45kg lighter.)

It is underpowered. (If it weighed less, that wouldn't be a problem. :)

Overly high-tech? I dunno...how many posts on this list are about "high-tech"
problems with the ABS or fuel injection?

Personally, I don't like the styling on the GTS very much. The front fender
hides some of the best engineering in production motorcycle history. The cover
on the front shock?! Ug! Some designer said "bikers like chrome! we've got to
put a big piece of chrome on the bike somewhere!" What about the rough-cast
design for the front wheel...it's the hardest thing in the world to keep clean.
The rear fender looks much to big for the bike. I like being able to see the
engine or pipes at least, not having all that plastic. I think the right side of
the GTS looks good without the lower plastic...of course, the left side has all
that ugly cooling plumbing (which I keep thinking of replacing with clear
tubing).

So, having said all of that, will you kick me out of the club? :)

I haven't read the article, but I hope it mentioned:
        the best ABS on the market (when it works!)

        terrific comfort

        amazing front suspension

        very reliable motor/chassis/suspension

=> underhorsepowered, overly hightech, ugly egg shaped
=> motorcycle.
=> They did have a very pretty picture of a red 93
=> though.
=> Anyway, they did not have one single good thing to say
=> about it. We should e-mail them a piece of our mind.

Send them the left frontal lobe in a small tupperware container. That'll show
them!
