Personally, I think if you don't ride like your are invisible, you are taking your life in your hands. Some of the scariest roads I do locally is a major route in an old part of town (where I live) where the typical layout is 100' lot, backlane, 100'lot, 70' road/sidewalks...Repeat... all feeding onto a 4 lane (2 each way) route. It's like running the gauntlet on who's not going to see you today and pull out from a lane or street and nail you. 50km/h, 30mph, 45fps....slow but with all that action it can spell toast for a MC.
