I just got in from my first day at Bike Week. Had a chance to sit on, touch. fondle, kick the tires and, ooohh and aaahh the FJR1300. It is beautiful. The hard bags clipped on solid with out any sway like on the Honda ST. I could feel the weight difference between it and my GTS just sitting on it and swinging it side to side. The sitting position, arms, and hand to bar position was identical to my GTS with the SuperBar modification. If I closed my eyes I�d think I was on my GTS...........of course I�d have to spend a lot on the GTS to reduce it by 100 lbs and need to add a super charger to get an additional 40 hp.
Yamaha only had one in the tent, at the test ride display, but it was the star of the show. People were around it the whole time I was there. I personally heard a three people state they were going to ordering one while I was standing there. The Yamaha marketing man said they had received fifty $500 down payment checks per day from dealers since it was introduced five days ago. Yamaha hit a home run with this one. By the way the dealer says it comes with a unlimited mileage one year warranty from Yamaha with an additional three year extension available. Very similar to Honda's warranty.......:>))) I can�t wait until August... Hawke
