I've got a Roadcrafter two-piece and the back protector. I did find it a bit uncomfortable and removed it. But I don't think the issues I had would be any different with other brands, although I haven't tried them. Meanwhile, I've lost a bit of weight and now that the suit isn't as tight, it might be worth another try. If it doesn't work out for me, I might consider selling. Anyone who might be interested, feel free to contact me off list.
It does not interfere with ventilation and installation is a snap. Another issue I have with it (and with any back protector) is that it makes it impossible to fold the suit up enough to stuff easily into a saddlebag. Anyone on the list have a 'Stitch and have any experience with the Aerostitch brand protector vs. other brands (such as Bohn)? Motorcycle Consumer News reviewed the Bohn back protector that velcros into the Roadcrafter, and they felt it was more protective and maybe a little more comfortable, though it blocked ventilation more than the stock piece. I've heard the Aerostitch version is maybe a little tall and can intrude on helmet space. Any opinions? >>
