I'd say probably not, but there are modern bikes with the same
function type system. My 2000 GoldWing has auto cancelling
turn signals that are based on distance/time/lean angle. Very cool
system... Only bad thing I've found is that the delay time isn't
adjustable and I have a bad habit (good habit?) of signalling
very early when I'm on the bike so that idiots behind me don't
run into the back of me. Unfortunately sometimes the autocancel
beats me to the turn and I end up turning with no signal. Oh well,
life can't be perfect. But I do know that the big Wing doesn't
have any FI glitches/surges. I hear that modern bikes have
mostly cured the unfortunate affliction the GTS seems to have
concerning off/on throttle transitions. The new YZF-R1 and
GSX-R1000 uses throttle body vacuum-controlled injection so
that the throttle bodies actually restrict the air/fuel based on
load and RPM... no sudden off/on transition, more of a smooth
roll-on. Might be another topic for discussion as to whether
we can retrofit a similar type TB into our system...
